Good News: 50 Lakh Employees And 65 Lakh Pensioners To Get Major Benefits

According to the central government’s major decision, a rise in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for 50 lakh employees and 65 lakh pensioners has been approved. The rise is likely to be around 4%, which will take the total DA approximately to 56% in the 7th Pay Commission. This measure was taken to provide some relief in these inflationary times for the financial stability of the government employees and pensioners.

EPS-95 Pensioners Will Get ₹7,500 As The Monthly Pension

Another big relief for the EPS-95 pensioners has been announced. The government has approved ₹7,500 as a minimum pension with effect from May 2025, plus Dearness Allowance. This change is in view of the long-pending demands of senior citizens who were really in need of improved financial support after retirement.

DA Arrears Payments For 18 Months Most Probably

In another important development, sources say that the release of 18-month DA arrears that were frozen and not paid during the COVID-19 pandemic could be authorized very soon. If approved, it will be a windfall gain for both serving employees and pensioners and will improve their financial status tremendously.

More Benefits Coming: Fitment Factor and Bonus Leaves

Apart from the DA increase, deliberations are ongoing for an upward revision of the fitment factor, which can lead to a multiplication in the basic salary. The government is looking to add to the morale of employees and offer extra bonus leaves to these employees for better employee-employer work-life modules.

When Will These Benefits Be Put Into Effect?

According to the officials, notifications for DA and pension hike/DR for pensioners shall soon follow. The 2.5% benefit should be seen by employees and pensioners in their salary and pension disbursement in May-June 2025.

Conclusion

Such a chain of operations proves the support the government is ready to extend to all its working and retired citizens. These financial tokens are expected to foster some much-needed stability given inflationary concerns, thus improving the overall economic sentiment in the country.
